Low Iron levels at 29 weeks? Should I start to take Folic Acid while Pregnant?

Low Iron levels at 29 weeks? Should I start to take Folic Acid while Pregnant?

Low Iron is very common during pregnancy

It can leave you feeling really tired and short of breath at times.

Because you will always lose some blood during delivery, it can also mean that these symptoms will be worse after the birth, which is not ideal with a brand new little person depending on you!

The good news is that at 29 weeks you have lots of time to improve your iron levels. Make sure that your diet includes lots of Iron rich food, such as red meat, leafy green veg and Legumes like lentils and chickpeas.

Your doctor/midwife will also recommend you take an Iron supplement such as Galfer.

To get the best results, take it with a glass of fresh orange juice and avoid tea/coffee for a few hours before and after.
