Antenatal Classes at The Baby Academy

Locations in South Dublin, North Dublin, Cork and Galway

Our signature antenatal course, also known as a ‘pre-natal course‘ or a ‘parent craft course’, is designed for expectant parents to prepare them for labour, birth and the early days of parenthood.

Both the mother and partner are encouraged to attend the course. Course fees are €175 per couple. If your partner is unable to attend, you are more than welcome to come alone or to bring a friend or relative. All antenatal classes run on Saturdays over one day from 9.30am-4.30pm.

What do I need to bring?

All you need to bring is yourself and your partner. We will provide you with a comprehensive set of notes, so that when you return home, you have a point of reference for your pregnancy journey.

We will break for tea and coffee in the morning (that’s on us!) and for lunch in the afternoon you can either bring your own lunch or buy it in the hotel. Please wear comfy clothes!

Antenatal classes for partners?

Antenatal classes are for both Mum and partner. This is a great way for the partner to feel more connected to the pregnancy, especially as they’re not the one physically carrying your little baby.

As well as preparing you for the journey from bump to baby, antenatal classes can help your partner know what to expect. They give your partner a better idea of what is going to happen to you during delivery and of complications that could arise.

This can help them to stay calmer as you give birth, so they are better able to truly be there for you when you need it most. Antenatal classes also give your partner a chance to voice concerns that they may not want to worry you with.
